Tom, the town’s self-proclaimed leader, convinces the residents to hide Grace in exchange for work. But when a “Missing” poster with her name goes up, the townspeople feel justified in demanding compensation, given the risks involved in hiding her. Grace learns that the kindness of strangers is relative.
