• Location Preferences

  We store your chosen city in a browser cookie so we can automatically show you relevant local screenings on your next visit. You can clear this at any time via your browser settings.

• Watchlist Data

  If you link a Letterboxd username, we fetch your public watchlist to highlight showtimes for films you want to see. We only read publicly accessible data. We do not store your Letterboxd password or access any private Letterboxd information.

3. How We Use It

We use your information only to operate and improve Sillage:

• Show you showtimes personalised to your city and Letterboxd watchlist
• Send account verification emails when you register or update your email address
• Send password reset emails when requested
• Send watchlist, saved-plan, and new cinema notifications you choose to enable
• Maintain your account and settings

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or marketing emails.

4. Third-Party Services

Letterboxd is a separate, independent service operated by Letterboxd Limited. Sillage is not affiliated with or endorsed by Letterboxd. When you provide your Letterboxd username, we access only your publicly visible watchlist. Letterboxd's own Privacy Policy and Terms of Use govern your use of that platform.

Showtimes listed on Sillage are sourced from publicly available cinema schedules. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any of the cinemas listed on this site.

5. Data Sharing

We will never sell, trade, or rent your personal information to any third party. We do not share your data with advertisers. We use a self-hosted email delivery service (Brevo) solely to send account-related transactional emails. No user data is shared for marketing purposes.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account from the Settings page, all your personal data — including your username, email, and any linked Letterboxd information — is permanently and immediately deleted from our database. This action cannot be undone.

7. Your Rights & Control

You are in full control of your data at all times. From your Settings page you can:

• Update or change your email address
• Disconnect your Letterboxd username
• Change your preferred city
• Permanently delete your account and all associated data

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Sillage after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We recommend checking this page periodically.
